Default clothes in bangkok

Hi all,

I go on my adventure next week, but I need some more clothes, jeans T-shirts shorts and trainers. Would you recommend I buy them here in the UK or just buy them in Bangkok?

Also do you think £150 would be enough to survive on for 4 days in Bangkok?

cheers peeps

Im travelling to bangkok on the 01/06/2009 for 4 days before i move on to aus.

I taking £175 for the the 4 days as things over there are alot cheaper and im not gonna go spending loads as i need to budget for the rest of my travels.

As for clothes im taking the bare necessities as my friends have been there before and say things like t shirts are really cheap. So i would personally take enough clothes to keep you going for a few days but stock up on a few things over there :P

Pack light is the name of the game. You can definitely buy what you need over there.

I don't imagine that you'll be staying in luxury hotels, therefore, 150 lbs ($300 US Dollars more or less) for 4 days is waaaaaaaay more than enough.

Read this article about visiting Bangkok on the cheap. $5 US dollars for a one hour massage?! Book me for half a day, every day, por favor!

You guys will be just fine and don't forget to post some pics when you're there!

Have a great time!

GO to thailand with an empty suitcase lol

You can buy decent quality fake designer clothes..shorts, t-shirts..all you need really for like 2-3 pound a piece

150 quid for 4 days?

Depends what your plans are

Stay in 3 star hotel or guesthouse 5-15 pound per night

Eat from food stalls all day long never spend more than 5 pound in total all day to fill you up

Buy booze from shops...2 pound bottle whisky...30p Bottle beer? Or go clubs and bars? more expensive

So accomodation, food and drink 15-70 per day depending on your plans

Go to Nana Plaza and get some sexy Thai girl (or boy lol) maybe cost you 30-40 pound lol...I woulndt really know?

Clothes such as tees generally cost 200 baht or even less.

200 Thai baht = 4.25988773 British pounds

And normally places like "Chatuchak Weekend Market" which is basically one gigantic open market. They work like wholesale market. Meaning thigns cost less if you buy in bulks.

I've seen tees costing like less than 100baht especially if you buy more than 10 pieces. However size can be an issue as Asians are usually smaller size than their Western counterparts. And dun buy in bulks immediately, 'cos some clothes shrink after wash. So to be safe, you might want to buy a size up.

Just some advice here guys.
