Iam going to Thailand 6th decemeber for a 3 month jaunt - I cant wait. Iam heading North up to Pai - Laos - then going to some islands. I have been before but only for a month and only to the more popular islands. Any one been to Ko Lipe? Anyone got any tips for any hidden gems?
Sounds fabulous. I haven't been to Thailand so can't help you out there, but you should get a reply here pretty soon. Keep watching this space, and check out the Asia and Travel Stories forums, there might be something helpful in there.

I myself haven't been to Thailand (well two days in Bankok for transit...) but Laos yes. If you want tips for that country, I wrote some in this thread. If you need any more infos, please ask.
I haven't been to Koh Lipe, so no help there, sorry!! I have been up north in and around Chiang Mai and down to Phuket and around some of the outer islands down that way. From what I have seen on my dive trips out of Phuket, there seem to be loads of smaller islands with great beaches that appear virtually uninhabited, but as of yet, I haven't done much exploring. Please give us a report on Koh Lipe if you make it out there. Is that on the Gulf side or the Andaman Sea side?
