here's my recommendation if you do stay in singapore:
1BnB
it's a unique place in that it's actually a bed&breakfast, packaged in a hostel-style pricing and it's got possibly the best views of the singapore skyline and its seaport for the value for money.
situated off the beaten path (most hostels that cater to westerners are located in either little india, close to orchard rd or in chinatown) this establishment occupies the 25th floor in a residental high-rise apartment/condo complex, called sportiswood park. there's a metro station that can be reached nearby, about a 15 minute walk.
or, if it's a more convenient arrangement, it's located right behind the malayan railway train stop.
its rooms are spacious, airy and neat. the staff incredibly friendly and bath facilities ultra clean. comfortable and unique, this place is offers an alternative and quietness to your regular hostels. rates are quoted in singaporean dollars, per room (not per person).
not the cheapest, but certainly not expensive. good value for money. and something different.
