TravelPUNK’s 12 part series on Backpacking Europe for all you aspiring & seasoned backpackers and student travelers.
9. Create a Blog
Why you need to create a blog.
The word “blog” is short for “web log.” Also known as an online journal.
There’s a gold old saying that goes “You are what you think about most.” That’s because whatever you think about all of the time is constantly being logged into your subconscious. Programming your subconscious in a certain way will manifest through your actions and day to day decision making.
That’s why they say write down your goals and put them in a place where you can see it all the time because, in theory, you will train yourself to do things to help you achieve your goals.
If you haven’t hit the road yet, but plan to, creating a blog about your “upcoming travels” or your “future dream trip” will have the same effect.
The more you write in your blog, the more you’ll keep yourself focused on your goals and the more you’ll tend to take action towards your travel goals: like earn more money, save money, plan your time off, plan your trip, buy your plane ticket, etc…
Be as specific as you can when you are writing in your blog so that your goals will become clearer and clearer.
Log it all down put up pictures of places you would like to visit.
And if you’re currently on the road, well, I’m pretty sure you already know the value of blogging about your travel experiences.
This is really a great way to keep all of your family and friends in the loop with your travel goals and or your current travels.
Rather than emailing everyone individually, just send all of them the link to your blog.
It’s also a great way for your friends and family to interact with you on your travels.
No doubt, you’ll look back fondly at your virtual travel scrap book as you read through your adventures and looking at all of the pictures you took.
You’ll be astonished at what you’ve accomplished, what you saw, places you visited, foods you ate, events that you took part, and the people you met and perhaps partied with.
