Are you talking about that yuca/mandioca/macaxeira/aipim stuff?

If so, in the States you'll find them at stores selling Latin or Asian foods, under the name of Yucain the frozen foods. Usually it's Goya who's distributing it.

Or maybe you'll find Yuca Fries

Can't imagine it tasting any good, though.

yeah i probably wouldnt eat those...lol

BigE - If you want an amazing experience, find a brazilian steakhouse and go there. Make sure to bring about 100 bucks and that will pay for 2 with drinks...

Oh and don't eat for three or four days prior...lol

I'll take my brather in law out to the Brazilian Bar B Q Cafe in Hyannis when he isn't working (he is Brazillian) and I'll make sure he orders some for me. Thanks for the tip.

they generally don't serve that at the brazilian steakhouses. The concept of churrascarria is from the south part of brasil where all the gauchos are. The carne de sol and the macaxeira is distinctly northeast coast area.

But the rodizio at the steakhouse is not to be missed!

I have had the Rodizio many times. If I am hungry for meat, that is where I go. The best.

Actually, macaxeira (or as most of Brazil calls it, mandioca), is pretty common all throughout. At the steakhouse near here they serve it fried, but they were much larger pieces.

Ah, whatev. It could also depend on which part of the country you're in, I guess. There a considerably large Brazilian population in that area, so it's probably in higher demand.

Anyway, it doesn't matter! You should go for the meat alone

Florencia you hit Argentine food right on!! And named all of my favorites. When I was there for a year the family had asados constantly (choripan is my favorite!), empanadas, dulde de leche on panqueques, alfajores, and other facturas (amazing dessert pastries of all types) that put some weight on me. And I still drink mate every day to this day.
