I used to work in a bakery-restuarant during high school and college and I was a nut case about being clean. I used to chew out guys/gals (mostly rich college brats) for not being clean or cleaning up after themselves. After I left my job, the old boss said he had to replace me with four guys. He said he should of paid me more. Yeah! he should of.
Being clean iin the food service is the number one priority.

Omid nailed it. The liklihood of a widespread e. coli outbreak is very unlikely, despite the recent spinach problem.
You are most likely to get a Norwalk-type virus (like what I had) from improper food-handling techniques like not washing hands, etc. than from "bad" food. The fast food joints plow through so much food that the chances of it even being around long enough to spoil is highly unlikely.

I hate fast food!!! But I'm not hypocrite...I have it from time to time. Usually from peer pressure, every else is doing it so you say what the hell.
I think its funny though how you'll crave something from a fast food joint and then after you it it you feel terrible and you swear off it......at least until the next time you see the commercial.
I agree with a few that it's pretty much chance whether your at a good restaurant or a bad one...just depends on the workers. Not to be politically incorrect but I try and shy away from "mentally challenged" people making my food....which is usually anyone working at a fast food joint.

As far as fast food goes, I think Taco Bell is fairly healthy. Beans, rice, ground beef, cheese? Although I could be wrong, I know nothing about nutrition. Taco Bell did have an outbreak of something nasty a few years ago with its green onions though. I remember it because my Mexican pizza was without green decoration for about 6 months.

Yeah, the entire west coast supply of green onions had gone bad - you couldn't even buy them fresh from the store at the time. 'Course, I hate green onions, so I had no problem with it The only time I like 'em is when they give you that grilled one on top of your order at Baja Fresh. So I was feeling the absence there, as I ate at BF all the time back then.

I'm a Taco Bell fanatic. We had a Taco Bell on our post in Germany, it was probably the best "Mexican" food in the continent. European's can't do Mexican like our upstanding illegal aliens can in the States.
For some reason the Germans never really liked it too much . . . not bland enough for them or something.

$25 Taco Bell Challenge
Ok, so my guy friends and I are running the Marine Marathon next weekend, and one of the ones (actually, oddly the one not running) is obsessed with what he calls the "$25 Taco Bell Challenge." Here it is:
Order $25 worth of Taco Bell, eat it all successfully, and you win $100. We're not sure it can be done. I will not be attempting. But he is trying to get the other guys to do it *before* the marathon (I really really hope he is just joking, though).
Oh, you have to front the first $25 yourself. Cause I guess even if you don't do it, you are buying yourself a meal, right?
And the cinnamon stick things apparently have the least gram of food to dollar ratio, so you have to eat the least (I guess they're not dense) for how much you spend if you stick to them.

Actually, the funny thing is that they are just opened up the first Taco Bell in... Mexico in 15 years. And apparently, there's been a lot of resistance against what they must see as a bastardized, Americanized franchising of the "real thing" at home. A bit like selling snow to Eskimos?

So one of the friends is a budget analyst for a state government, and this is probably the kind of stupid math he does all day long. He got home from work one day, and decided to apply it to binge-eating! Gotta love nerds who love to eat!

I will say this, the Taco Bell's here in Las Vegas are better than Michigan. The tacos taste so good here, just like they used to back in the 80's in Michigan.
I still steer clear of Jack-in-the Box from their big crisis back in the day. We don't have them in Michigan anymore.
I miss White Castle so much. I even wrote to them before I moved out here demanding they put a White Castle on the strip! How could, the champion of drinking fast food, not have a restaurant on the street of constant drinking?!? It just does not make sense.
Anyone remember Hot n Now back in the day? When they were good cheap burgers?
A KFC buffet? That would be off the hook. Anyone ever wonder why KFC doesn't serve Greens as a side dish? I know it's stereotypical, but I seriously think it would be a winner.
BK has a parent holding company, so I can see them using different names... similar to Hardee's and Carl's Jr.

endurance cyclist. but mostly it is going for the other direction, like which loaves of bread have the most carbs and protein. Or making pasta and cutting it with apple sauce for more protein
and we used to have kcs buffet's in the south, i wonder what happened to those..... but they dont serve greena because kentucky is too far north for greens you are thinking al/ga/ms if you want collards

meh, not a big fan of Taco Bell to be honest the last time I went there I was in a food court in Toronto, and I only went there because my friend from Great Britain had never tried it and wanted to, he then agreed that he didn't like it.
If I eat brand name fast food its usually Burger King or Subway

So is the KFC lunch buffet similiar to the Pizza Hut lunch buffet?
Someone has forgotten to mention the best of all, Long John Silvers... who doesn't love their deep fried fish and hushpuppies?
