hey everyone-
i'm planning on spending a little over a day in cork this may and am wondering if anyone has any tips on what to do while there. i've looked online and found some information but nothing that really stands out. anyone know what the nightlife is like in cork? how much pints go for? and what the scene is like? touristy, students, working class, all of the above? i would apperciate any and all information from any of you tpunkers that have been/lived there.
thanks in advance
jeff

Yeah, from everything I gathered, it was pretty "student-y." Didn't see a lot of other tourists there, and the lady at one of our B&B's kept telling us to go there since we're young. We camped on the very outskirts of it and headed there for a day trip. It was nice. Shopping, some nice pubs, etc. I'm not into the club scene, so we weren't even around for that.
Beer prices are pretty consisten throughout Ireland and 3/4 Euro it seemed (aside from Temple Bar )
Oh yeah, resident member MeTurk lives there/near there. He should be around shortly to help out!

You could take the bus into Blarney adn go see the castle and grounds, it was my favourite part of the whole trip! I didnt really find Cork to be super exciting, but it is pretty and quaint and there are some decent pubs, but I wasnt there long enough to discover much night life wise.
