One of my workmates was wearing an Edinburgh shirt the other day and I asked him if he had been there. He said yes and then proceeded to tell me about 'Hogmanay'

It looks mad! like the biggest party ever!! Its to celebrate the new year in Scotland. He said that random women just come up and kiss you :kisscheek: 100,000 people pack Glasgow and Edinburgh. So has anybody done it before?

Have been there man, but it looks like ive just found my new years eve party, accomodation or no accomodation. Who sleeps on new years anyways...

Yep, been there, and it really is as good as all that. As far as I'm concerned it's THE place to spend your new years if you're in striking distance of the UK. DO IT!!! (if u want accomodation book months in advance. seriously. and edinburgh backpackers is a good choice in hostel, by the way.)
