How far east are you heading? if you make it to St.JOhn's Newofundland, make sure you check out George Street, there are about 30 bars/clubs on one small street. A club where you would probably get the most techno kinda stuff would be Etomik.

HA Toronto! My Hood! and the right person to talk to! The best place for hard house and techno is sound emporium! A little less mainstream than the rest of Toronto (which has a HUGE club district) and which also plays mostly Hip Hop and RnB. but yeah The Docks is also really good but a $20 cab ride (cause it's out on the docks) the place is HUGE and pretty expensive! But still worth it if your into techno!

Whoa! didn't see this thread before!

Yea yea yea
Toronto is actually the second largest drum n bass city in the entire world, next to only London, UK. If you're into hardcore Hip hop, System Soundbar is a ghetto but sick club to hit.

Distrikt is a new club that has a rooftop patio that plays hip hop/drum n bass.

Oh, and if you're into house, every Saturday the Guvernment holds a massive house party....that is truly wicked...i tell you that. Resident DJ Mark Oliver will blow your mind. I like house parties better than hip hop, because there's less attitude.

For the older crowd, there's the Devil's Martini a little West of the clubbing area that is seriously the nicest club i've been inside.

There's also numerous neat little bars in downtown Toronto that really are the essence of the city. If you're on Adalaide, go to Up and Down, a very small, very cozy and friendly bar with a door that looks like it could be a side of a couch.

Head to Queen street West (west of yonge st) for nice restaurants and trendy bars to escape the commercialism of Queen Street center. There's a place called The Rack and Waq which is a dual pool hall/club, and little bars that play sick sick music. The Bovine Sex Club is like walking into a bar admist a forest of dead trees and christmas lights.

But yeah, you can find anything from local listings on EYE or NOW magazine.

Have fun!

As you head east, You will swing through a city called Kingston, It has some pretty deceant clubs. If you really like trance techno and goa, I would suggest a club called (now dont laugh) Ché Foofoo. It is technically a gay bar but they have a killer DJ. There is also Stages and Ajay's hanger. They are some cool spots. Its a big college town so there are lots of young people. The hot girl to guy ratio is about 3 : 1. Except at Foofoo. then its 0 : 1

Montreal has a great party and club scene in it's downtown core. Most of the action happens on Crescent street. That's probably the hottest party place in Canada. You're guaranteed to find something you like. Try Bishops steet to, which is one block West. (both oth these streets are connected by St. Catherine's street)

Just a heads up though, a good import beer on tap costs $8 a pint so get ready to pay up!

In Montreal, there are actually three area's that you'll want to stay in. First, the West End of Montreal on Crescent Street. This area caters to a mostly English-speaking crowd. My favorite pub on this street is called 'madhatters', a good student crowd.
The next street is called 'St.Laurent'. It's in the Eastern end of Downtown Montreal. It's a bilingual English-French area with a lot of night clubs. I recommend the clubs 'saphire' (an alternative style place) Foufounes electriques (punk rock/electro- style place). Foufs (as its known) is located near the intersection of St.Catherine and St.Laurent streets. 'Le bifteck' is another location, popular with college students and local bohemians.
There are numerous other pubs/clubs on st.laurent, however my specialty is alternative/punk rock.
St.Denis street is another hot spot for pubs/clubs. Also located in the East End of Downtown Montreal (near St.Laurent), this area caters to French-speaking people. Important locations would include 'le saint sulprice' near St.denis and DeMaisonneuve; and cafe chaos, located up the street. This general area is where the best partying in Montreal takes place. Most tourists that come to Montreal tend to only stay around Crescent Street, missing out on some of the best party locations.
