Default London

I know this seems a bit strange...a Londoner starting a thread about London. BUT!

Ive got a load of freinds from all over the world coming to stay at mine in 2 weeks time - were off to a festival at the end of the month and as i live near heathrow, ive offered my house for those travelling from far to come and stay at mine for a few nights, to see london on the cheap, and to rest up before and after the festival.

now they all want to see the best bits in london - problem is, having lived here all my life, i dont tend to notice the tourist attractions as its standard for me. so, imagine you have 2 days in london - what would you do? where would you go?

i dont need to know where everything is, but if people could recommend me where to take 2 italians, 5 americans, 3 dutch and a belgian then i'd be most greatful!

I always liked the Tate Modern, the Tower of London, and that new wharf area across from the Tower of London. Getting out to Windsor Castle was also pretty cool.

As I am going to London for 4 days in June (and have never been to London before) I plan on being touristy and checking out Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, the bridges, seeing Piccadilly Circus area, Notting Hill area, houses of Parliament, ummm..... lets see... shopping at Harrods!!

To me that sounds pretty typical touristy. I bought this little London map guide that's pretty cool with fold-out maps for each neighborhood and the top 10 or so sights for that neighborhood. It's in my car right now but when I leave work I'll see what the title is and post again.

Hope this helps!

I don't know what your friends are into but Shakespeare's Globe Theater is a big deal. They have tours of the theater for not very much or you can spend a bit more and see a show there. I'm really into theatre so that was a really big deal for me.

Awww shit buzzingtalk you live in London? too bad i didnt' know that... I was just in london a few days ago. Ah well, London is an awesome town.

I wanted to go to that place 'The Fryer's Delight' for fish and chips, but it was closed. I was sad.

But it was first time I went out in Soho, and that place is awesome.

i really think we need a meet up in London seeing as i live only 40 mins away from Fenchurch St.
We keep saying we will do it but it never bloody happens.

Saturdays are cool for me, how about May?

I may be in London on the 10th-ish to send off my sister and fly to Eastern Europe. If you guys hold that 13th time frame, I'll try to plan for a flight on the 15th or so.
