Default THE RUNNING OR THE TOMATO FEST, what would you choose

I have planned my trip and so far it looks great but i have this terrible little feeling in the back of my mind saying " You silly girl your missing the running of the bulls are you insane" lol.

The thing is i have planed my trip so that i can go to the La Tomatina festival instead. reason being. the runing is around the 14th of july and the tomato fest around the 29th august 08 and i cant aford to be in spain for that long to see both and the tomato fest is more convenient and fits in my itinerary a hole lot better, but the more i think about it the more im getting sad that ill miss the running. i spose if it really bugs me i can just fly into spain for a few days to do the running and fly back out again and then come back when the tomato fest is on, but i dont really wont to have to interupt my trip like that. so my question is, if you had to choose what would you do. what was your favourite, or what do you think a crazy 18yr old girl who is first time traveling would enjoy more. or should i just suck it up and fly in and out to do both......

I didnt go to la tomatina so I cant really give you a good comparison, but the running of the bulls is definitely a must-do thing (at least for me it was) at one point in your life.....actually I have to go back b/c I didnt actually get to do the run (long story) but if you really feel it conflicts, go with whatever feels right for you, you can always hit it up another year.

Just as a side note that's kind of cool for a female (at least I think it is~ nice little ego boost anyways) if you actually intend on running, there are about 3 guys for every one girl AT the running, and of that, I'd say 1 in 6 or 8 of the runners are actually girls....so you know, you'd feel kinda brave to want to do it, lol

I've been to the running of the bulls, and it was a very memorable and enjoyable experience. I did do the run and it was freakin great, it's something I'm very glad I've done. On a side note, it's bloody incredible how many Aussies I met on the run...I wonder why that is...

I've not been to la tomatina either, so I can't say what that event is like. But, if I was ever presented with the choice of doing the run again or going to la tomatina, I would probably choose to go back to Pamplona, it was that good!
