Just thought i would let you guys know a hostel in a Bayeux and abit about the town
Bayeux was one of the first towns liberated by the allies during the D-day beach landings of WW2.
and it is a good spot to base yourself if you plan to check out some of the important places of the allied invasion. Tours are run from Beayux almost everyday(i personally went with a company called
D-Day Tours which run half day tours.)
also town of a huge ass tapestry which is an 11th century 70 metre woven tapestry depicting the rise of william the conqourer to the English throne.
It was a great weekend, and not to bad on the $$ either as i took the ferry over from Portsmouth UK Caen.(4o pound return)
the hostel in Beayux was not too bad, (it's the only hostel there)
i shared the twin room with a Brit.
breakfast included (croisonts and cereal)
rooms were clean shared bathroom some of the showers where a bit how ya goin
all in all i was happy but would have been happier had it been the 10 euros i thought it was according to
one website)
