what's up. In less than two weeks I leave to work in Alaska for 5 months. When I am done my return flight goes through Seattle so I have planned on spending about 4 days there as I've always wanted to check the city out. What are some cool things to do in Seattle and places to see? Any cool pubs? where should I stay. All the info I get on line is the normal tourist stuff and I was hoping for some local insight. I'll be returning from 5 months of work in Alaska's little town of Skagway so I'll probably be looking to let loose a bit. Thanks for any help.

Hey Craig!
I'll be happy to show you around. When you do a search on hostels on the main tpunk site, I -- and Voyd-- HIGHLY recommend the Downtown HI Hostel. DO NOT go to the Green Tortoise and DO NOT do the "Vashon Island" one. Seriously.
There are lots of fun things to do around here. When are you coming? Around September or so?

Thaks Space. I'd be getting into Seattle September 17th I think.....Seeing as I am going to have a good deal of money due to the work in Alaska I was just thinking about staying in a hotel. Honestly Hostels had not crossed my mind but I am now glad you brought that idea up. I had heard that the US hostels were a bit dirty but you reccomend this down town one so highly I am going to look it up. As September gets closer I'll try to keep in touch. Any inside info is great. Thanks. I think I'll know where to find you!

Ugh, nosey people just kidding. No i hate fish and the smell of fish Diorama. I got a job bartending in Skagway. It's a tiny little town that has 2-5 cruise ships pull in and out of port each day. Looks to be a good gig as I abrtend where I am now and make 5 dollars an hour plus tips. In skagway I'll make 8.75 an hour plus tips...and really how important is the money anyway? It's another adventure.........Ok so I want to go back to Europe next spring (France and Spain) so the money is a little important

There's around six or seven clubs downtown Seattle that you can pay one cover and go to 'em all. Few even have live bands. Not my gig, but might be a good place for you to chill. Cheers!
