P.S. Dallas is building more and more attractions, restaurants, etc everyday..... It is soon becoming as sought after to travel to as NYC, LA, and Miami!
Personally Deep Ellum used to be something great.... but now there are only a few hole good spots such as Purgatory (just outside of Deep Ellum on the outskirts of Downtown), Lizard Lounge (brings great national DJ acts every weekend), and smaller places like Clubs One, Seven, and Minc...
The Westend has gone to hell... they shut down the Marketplace and the club that had the best college night anywhere in Dallas, the old Bar Dallas and Have A Nice Day Cafe. There is however the new clube Metro5 aka M5 near Hooters in the westend. It was formerly Area 51 and highlighted on E! tv.
I would also check out Uptown which has a few nice spots just north of the Westend and American Airlines Center. Speaking of AAC, they have the new Victory project going on with the new W Dallas Hotel and restaurants and shops, also on the 30th floor of the W Hotel is the Ghostbar Lounge.
For those open minded or gay check out Oaklawn/ Cedar Springs clubs. The old Village Station is now called Station 4. They put tons of money into remodeling, etc... and it is awesome with a great drag show.... all I gotta say is Krystal Summers (a drag queen) you cant even tell isnt a girl!
Lower Greenville.... well they have a few nice hole in the walls, but no more Red Jacket (great hot spot) or Arcadia theater complex (burnt down a few months ago due to a restaurant fire next door).
