21 year old Aussie male looking to work in LA fr 3+ months.

Im looking at working in the US for 3+ months and as a result i need to apply for a non-immirant visa to do so.

I have a few questions:

Quote:
22. When Do You Intend To Arrive In The U.S.?
(Provide specific date if known)
I plan to leave on my 22nd birthday (Jan 9th) but nothing is set in stone. Can i apply for the VISA with that date and still gain entry if i end up[ leaving later? Perhaps i should apply for the VISA when im certain of a date?

Quote:
24. At What Address Will You Stay in The U.S.?
Should i put down the first hostel i will be staying at?

Quote:
27. What is The Purpose of Your Trip?
"Travel and work". Should i elaboarate? Perhaps say something like 'Gain some life experience by traveling and working in a foreign country"?

Quote:
32. Do You Intend To Work in The U.S.?* Yes* No
(If YES, give the name and complete address of U.S. employer.)
Im not sure where i will be working just yet. I plan to get off the plain, see the sights for a week or so then look for work. What should i put here and should i put anything at all?

Thanks in advance guys and girls!!

On a side note i found this question to be a little ammusing...

Quote:
Do you seek to enter the United States to engage in export control violations, subversive or terrorist activities, or any other unlawful purpose? Are you a member or representative of a terrorist organization as currently designated by the U.S. Secretary of State? Have you ever participated in persecutions directed by the Nazi government of Germany; or have you ever participated in genocide?

I'm assuming you're going to have all your paperwork in order and will be applying for the ability to WORK legally, correct? Because if you put down "travel and work" on that form without proper authorization to work, the only part of America you'll see is the airport terminal. :D

The quotes i have asked for help with in my original post are taken straight from the WORK VISA APPLICATION form from the relevant US immigration website.

I dont need a visa if i dont plan to work and just want to travel for up to 90 days. I want to work hence my visa application help.

Sometimes getting work permission for the US is difficult. On the other hand, it's almost more difficult for US citizens to get work permission in other countries... ask me how I know this.

Good luck though, Canada is lovely but come on down to the US for a visit.

Not really no. You'll have to pass US customs. I am not sure about getting US visas as being Canadian its never been an issue for me. But you probably will have to pass through US customs
