Thumbs down

well, i'm headed to vegas for a weekend with my friend, she's pregenant (which is fine with me because i don't really drink and i love to eat!!!), and her sisters...

i wonder if any of you know of any really good buffets and/or restaurants we shouldn't miss?

any weird or otherwise cool museums?

the best swimming pool?

best show?

we're trying not to spend too much cash - and, do you know of any smoke-free casinos??

thanks guys!

thanks, llemus - so far the bellagio and the mandalay bay have recieved the most votes for best buffet (based on my own obsessive polling) - we're staying at the mirage - so hopefully it will be near everything.

i figure it shouldn't be too hard to find good food, but considering my girl is pregenant, we need some fun activities to occupy our time... she can't ride rides or jacuzzi...

The Mirage is centrally located, and clos to all of the above mentioned casinos. The Rio had a good buffet and not far, but it's across the freeway so it's best to just drive there.
here's a link for all of your Vegas needs (spas, dining, nightlife, golf, etc...)- Vegas.com- Buffets

See pictures and details of all the casinos here- Vegas hotels

I did hear of a new casino that was smokefree, but it was just a tiny local joint with, I believe, just slots and no tables.

Also, off the strip, The Green Valley Ranch Casino in Henderson is really nice. Michael Jackson was staying there the day he found out that there were new charges against him. They have a good buffet, nice restaurants, cinema, and an outdoor pool with a hopping scene, but that was during the summer time when I checked it out.

When are you going? It may be too cold for swimming pool action

I know this is a little (understatement) late, but hopefully others going to Vegas will read this and be happy!!! I'm also at work...you guys know how it goes..

I love sin city, and have spent much of my money and my self decency there.

Best buffets for dinner are the Spice Market at the Aladdin, the Around the World and the Seafood ones at Rio. For breakfast/brunch/lunch...the buffets at the Bellagio and Paris are the best. The Bellagio has the best mimosas (might as well start early, right?).

There are really good clubs at every major casino/hotel. But the best ones at the moment are Body English at the Hard Rock and Rain at the Palms. My favorite ones are Light at Bellagio, Studio54 at MGM, and Bikini at Rio. Coyote Ugly at New York, New York is also good if you're a guy because there's always chicks dancing on the bars (ones that work there, as well as random ones).

Crazy Horse is a fun strip club...but it's the only one I've been to. Sorry!

I usually spend much of the day recovering , so I don't do much of the "family friendly" things. New York New York, Stratosphere, and Sahara all have really fun rollercoasters...best I've been on and worth the 10 bucks or so.

Oh, and of course...you can gamble at any casino. But for those want-to-have-fun-but-still-on-a-budgeters...Excalibur, Tropicana, Casino Royale, Sahara, and Circus Circus have the best 5 dollar blackjack and other low-limit tables.

I always travel on a budget so you'll get what you pay for at all of the places I've mentioned. But remember that Vegas isn't cheap! Clubs are usually free for ladies, and around 25 for the gents. Be prepared to wait in insanely long lines at the good clubs unless you've got huge tits or slip the bouncer a hundred...or more...

For anyone unfamiliar with the area: Most of the places mentioned are located on the strip (las vegas blvd.), and the ones are aren't on the strip...just ask anyone and they can point you in the right direction.

Hope this helps someone out.

And remember that whatever happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas..
