Route 66?
Has anyone made the trek? My sister and I were thinking of modifying our roadtrip when I got back to possibly Route 66 cos she's got a real thing for it.
So yeah if anyone has done Route 66, give me some details!

correction "historic" route 66... since it doesn't really exist anymore but the historic route is marked

I've done the southwest leg between LA and New Mexico... I'll have to dig up the pictures and the details, as I have 'em archived somewhere.
Anyway, there's some cool stuff along the way, whereas other parts are painfully boring stretches - but that's to be expected. My mind wasn't blown at all by the stretch I did, but there was something just cool about being on the first interstate highway type thingamajig that made it worthwhile.

i have done a leg of it, my advice is dont do it on a motorcycle like i did. you will start talking to yourself
if you do take a gas can. there are some stretches where the gas stops are further than 150 miles apart
