San Diego, Any Tpunks in the area

So, it appears that Roxy and I are moving to the San Diego area in about 3 months or so. We are first going to travel Central America for about 6 weeks, come back load the moving truck and drive cross country and start fresh in the San Diego area. We have one current friend that lives there that has given advice on areas to live, but of course I want more than one opinion. So far these are the areas that are attractive to us:
North County - Carlsbad, Delmar
Closer to SD - Ocean Beach, Mission Beach
I seem to be the fondest of Carlsbad. Keep in mind that Roxy and I are both very experience massage therapists that would more than likely end up in a high end resort spa type place, thus the interest in Carlsbad etc...
We do love the relaxed vibe of Ocean Beach though, and our friend lives in Mission Beach. Honestly, I don't know if I want to live that close to SD. The northers suburbs sound safer etc...
SO Tpunks, whatcha know, all advice is Sweet!

I'm far from San Diego , but I moved your thread into the USA forum where you should get more response. There are tpunks in the area, I know for sure Omisan. :)

^I think Omi may be in San Franscisco.

I have never been to San Diego but I hear it is a nice place to live. I'm sure you two will like it. Pretty much the best location for exploring Central America next year :)

Ah, the Whale's vagina. It is a beautiful place. My favorite little town when I went out there to visit a friend was Pacific Beach or PB as all the locals call it. But you gotta do whats right for you.

Ahh, thats good to hear. Our friend that lives there lives in Mission Beach, just south of PB. And yeah I've already caught onto the local lingo for cities:) Our Friend has lived in MB for 5 years now, and recommends either of them. I was acually looking a bit farther north in the Carlsbad area, but I can't find anyone to advise on that yet. So it keeps getting interesting. I must say I haven't heard it called the Whales Vagina - Would love to know the story behind that one!

It's a quote from Anchorman. Will Ferrell plays Ron Burgundy, a San Diego news anchorman, threatened by the arrival of Veronica Corningstone (Christina Applegate), an up-and-comer in the world of nightly news. Here is the whole scene...

Ron Burgundy: Discovered by the Germans in 1904, they named it San Diego, which of course in German means a whale's vagina.
Veronica Corningstone: No, there's no way that's correct.
Ron Burgundy: I'm sorry, I was trying to impress you. I don't know what it means. I'll be honest, I don't think anyone knows what it means anymore. Scholars maintain that the translation was lost hundreds of years ago.
Veronica Corningstone: Doesn't it mean Saint Diego?
Ron Burgundy: No. No.
Veronica Corningstone: No, that's - that's what it means. Really.
Ron Burgundy: Agree to disagree.
