Evening y'all. I just got back from Knoxville, TN about an hour ago. I arrived there at 6a.m. Saturday morning and left at 1p.m. today. Long trip I know, but when you gotta work you gotta work. We decided to head down to Knoxville, because, well, it wasn't Michigan. First thing I must say is it was beautiful down there (for any of you in the north). It was in the high 60's, low 70's and sunny. We stayed at a Motel 6, it was basic. Nothing great, nothing bad. I prefer Best Westerns, just cause I have always gotten good service, but we couldn't find either one in the city. (Funny side not, when we woke up saturday and walked out, low and be hold just on the otherside of the freeway was the Best Western we were looking for. S.O.B. We could see it from our door. So much for being observant.

Anyways, the people down yonder are nice, and willing to help out. Although they have different names for roads. We were going to visit a friend, and well the map programs called the road Baileyton, but the signs said Van Hill. Although the locals knew it as both. The downtown looks very nice, didn't get much chance to do much sightseeing but did drive through it when my "navigator" mis-read a sign.

Anyways, for the important stuff. THere is a place there called Cotton Eyed Joe's. If you are ever in the mood to visit a genuine country bar, this is it. Now its not all dosey-do and yee haw'in. But it's got that wood country feel, the folks are friendly, and its got a mix. Everyone in town comes here, young, old, everyone. They have a dance floor, (where they line dance to hip hop and club mixes.... crazy, but that little pelvic thrust those girls do is so sexy. Especially when you are about 4... maybe even 5 sheets to the wind ) THey got pool tables, a mechanical bull, girls dancing on the bar, an arcade, lasso'in. If you don't like one thing, you can find something you will like. I met quite a few new friends there, altough didn't get contact info due to inebreation. But it was a cool place, I liked it. It was a nice change from the clubs here in detroit where everyone thinks they are thug and are looking to throw down with someone.

For anyone who likes White Castles, there is a place called Krystal, they are exactly the same. Overall I would say Knoxville has a decent enough nightlife, might not be packed with clubs like some cities, but it can show you a good time. Definately worth a few days to explore the area.

I regretted leaving, I wanted to stay in the nice warm weather so bad, and just to prove that I should have stayed, right after Dayton, OH (which was ass freezing cold), we had freezing rain off and on all the way home. Where it was still ass freezing cold. Terrible. So, now I am looking for jobs down south. Anyone wanna move there?

Great story Sij...

Im gunna be looking for that southern hospitality when in the states... The small towns, where life revolves around the tavern... The one street towns. I would love to in one of those towns when the town fair is on. You know, the ones like in the movies, where the put the big banner across the street above the road... Pumpkin growing contests, pie eating contests, and kissing booths (oh wait, that only happens when Paris Hilton is in town )
