Hi all,

I've got a friend planning to come from the UK to California in Jan.07 and she needs to get a work visa. Does anyone have any advice on easy ways or techniques on getting one?? How long does it take to get one?
Also how long does the visa last for-working or travel?? Can you extend the visas while you are still in the USA or do you need to exit and re-enter?
Any help would be much appreciated!!!
Thanks, Jurgen

hey from what I've read it is hard as hell to get a H1 visa to the us..well any visa to the us.....does your friend have a degree or something >? That would definitly help? Does she have a job offer when she gets here? She'll need one. It is insanely hard. I don't know if its easier for the UK but for Canada its hard. SHe should look on there gouvernment site at visas and see what you can come up with. Definitly post what you find out maybe it can help someone else good luck...I've just cam up with alot of dead ends but you might get lucky!

Thanks for your input Misschick. My friend is working on getting a job lined up here, but we still have a lot of research to do to get a better idea on how to get a visa. I'll be sure to post whatever I find out.
Thanks,
Jurgen
