Im going to Wisconsin for 2-3 months (will be around Chicago too) then thinking of going over to Mexico for a week. im flying out on June 1st into Chicago. Lookin to head to Milwaukee and Madison. Last year I hoped to travel after my time in WI but it sadly didnt work out, but this year it will!!!! So im up for havin a blast and a laugh!

That's my birthday Sabrosa!

Anyhow, I live in Chicago now, originally from Wisconsin.

Madison is a great city. There's tons to do if you just head to State St. Lots of bars, nice hotels, restaurants, people, shopping. There's a nice zoo there, a couple of malls. They had the greatest B&B there that was all literary themed, but they turned it into apartments. There's a Howard Johnson's right around the party spots.

By the way, what brings you to WI?

Chicago - well, what can't you do in Chicago? There are tons of areas to go drink/party/stay/eat. Downtown, Uptown, Lincoln Park, Wicker Park, Edgewater, Lakeview... I guess it just depends on what you're looking to do. There's tons of art galleries, there's zoos, shopping on Michigan Avenue, great parks, beaches, etc. I guess it depends on what area you're looking to stay in and what you like to do.

Metromix is kind of like the Chicago entertainment guide, so you may want to look around to see if there's anything you'd like to do if it falls within your timeframe.

Mexico - wow, it's a whole country. Where should you go? Are you looking for a border town? Are you looking for a beach resort? All inclusive? The most popular destination spots are Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo, Cozumel and a few others. If you are looking to flying/taking a vaca package out of Chicago, let me know. I religiously read the Travel section of the local newspaper so hopefully I could help you find a deal.

Hi Coling,

I suggest that you go to the websites of some Chicago based airlines, like American Airlines, United, etc. Sign up for their e-mail savers, and every other day or so you'll get an e-mail with sale prices for domestic and international destinations. Keep scanning them for where you want to go, then when you see one you like, snag it!

I went to Mexico this Spring to see the pyramids and various ruins in the Mexico City area. If you're really into them, there are tons around there, and a bunch more in the Yucatan peninsula (you could base yourself out of Merida, Mexcio, and spend a week plus seeing different temples pyramids every day).

If you just want to hang out on the beach, Mexico has tons of beach destinations.

Oh, and since you'll be in Chicago, you have to attend a meetup!
