Milan to munich

The cheapest way to get from milan to munich anyone?! Travelling roughly 25/26/27 sept. Seems to be no cheap flights and only bust my balls trains like 87euros....arrrgh have to get there

Oktoberfest Tip: if you don't already have a place to crash, be prepared to spend the night at the train station...but don't worry, there will be more than enough people to keep you company (get there early because floor space is limited).

Evan, I cant believe you're still out there man. Train travel is probably the cheapest unless you want to try hitchhiking. Im sure there will be others making the drive, so that might work for you. Keep on truckin.

I'll be headed to Munich for Oktoberfest around that same time too. I'll be coming up from Garmisch though, we already have a ride to and from through the hotel. Maybe you should try an outlying suburb of Munich and see if they are offering any such deals. Garmisch is only like 50 miles away from Munich.

peenkfloeed has the right idea when i comes to places to stay, staying just outside the city will be cheaper and alot easier to find a place, keep your eyes peeled for people renting rooms in homes for the event, although you might only be able to find info like that in the classified add of a newspaper, so speaking German will be a serious asset.

As for getting there, ask around your hostel and stop in at hostels in Milan for other trav'las that are going your way, matbe you can buy yourself into a car or caravan thats heading up for the festival. Hitchhiking is also an option like Somnambulation said, just be frik'n careful..other than that train is your last "cheap" resort.
