I was further esearching my potential Taiwan plan and was doing some airfare cost analysis (huh huh, i said anal) and was curious if any1 has every successfully used priceline.com. Also, stumbled upon onetravel which seems kinda similar...any luck with either site?

I only use Priceline for hotels - I'm too picky about airlines to let it all go up in the air like that. Even then, it's a bit precarious, but there are particular bidding techniques that you can read about on the web.

As of last night, I'm boycotting them - the new ads with William Shatner in high heels are just.. too disturbing for words.

strangly, that is why i wanted to use them

I tried them for both and never found anything. I did the name your own price for airline tickets and the lowest they offered for naming hte price was higher than on travelocity. About the same with hotels. I never found any amazing deals.

I think if you are trying to find flights to Taiwan...Priceline may not be able to help much. The two main carriers from the U.S. are United and EVA Air. EVA is partnered with American, so usually if you are flying to Taiwan from somewhere else in the U.S. other than Cali, you can take American to LAX or San Fran and take EVA from there to Taipei. (I go there for work peridically). There are so few flights that I suspect Priceline may not be too much help....but you never know. Prices generally seem to run about $1,500 round trip give or take, but keep an eye out for specials. Good luck.

I have used Priceline twice.
1st time was for a Hotel, I got a 4 star hotel for $50, others were $100 and up. Excellent Experience and would recommend.
2nd time was for a flight, It leaves on May 17th and so I have departed yet but I got it on Virgin and paid about $50 less than anywhere else was advertising it for.

So I would recommend them!!
