I had a friend who did just that in Australia. I'm not really sure what's in Europe, but they basically bought the car for 4500 AUS dollars (which included insurance), used it for 3 months then sold it back to the company for like 2000...wouldnt really be worthwhile for shorter trips, but for longer ones it can be pretty handy.
