you just about covered all there is TO do. if you've got a laptop with wifi, bring that. never know when you might find an open wireless connection during a stopover, etc. also good if it plays dvds. some busses have ONE outlet, it's just fun to try to find them. otherwise, if you've got an MP3 player, that's an obvious plus - or a walkman/discman. i typically do a lot of sleeping, though it's not the most comfortable sleep i get. reading is something i always wish i did more of, but accomplish from time to time.

most of all, you can always try to chat up whatever cute girls happen to be on the bus as well!

Dude. I was in brasil for two months and in that time I spent one full weeks worth of hours in either a bus or a plane. My last bus trip from Fortaleza to Brasilia was 62 hours. Let me tell ya, you get real tired and real bored real fast.

I listened to ALOT of music over and over and over again and read a book everynow and then. Struck up alot of conversations when I could find people that spoke english and generally had as much fun as the bus could handle.

3 days may sound rough but it's over before you know it.

Oh god, long bus trips are miserable. Ive never had the pleasure of riding our esteemed Greyhound here at home, but have taken a few long bus trips in Europe which were beyond miserable. I took one from the bottom pf SPain to Barcelona which was about 16 hours in a bus with every seat full. I couldnt even sleep because they would change buses every now and then. If I were you I would take sleeping pills.

reading works for me best. Just seems to eat up time - as long as the book is good.
