Hey everybody!
Wow my first real question/topic pertaining to TRAVEL. How amazing. So I found a friend on myspace I haven't seen in years. He lives in Taiwan and has invited me to stay with him whenever. I figure maybe a week or two( all I can afford) Anybody have any advice on cheap tickets besides the standard Travelocity, expedia, blah, blah. I'm sure you guys won't let me down... Come on you thought I'd research this? And pass a chance up to post something useful?

congrades sounds like its going to be a good first trip, two bad you cant stay longer especially since you have a place to stay.
Anyway don't think these two AirHitch and AirTech will help you but i wanted to know if anyone has had any experience with them. This site looked like it has some good stuff on it, but i didn't have a chance to read it. Someopne here should know.

It looks like these sites were mostly for European destinations...but thanks anyway. I remember reading about the Airhitch site before, pretty cool stuff.

One thing I found was to look at flights that go to that destination and then sign up for the newsletters and check their promos/deals on their sites. Also, search for Taiwan Travel on yahoo or goole and visit some of those sites. They can sometimes point you in the direction of getting the cheapest flights.

As far as the airhitching thing: While it sounds super wonderful, it's really only beneficial if you live near a MAJOR airport, preferably on the east coast. Also, the price that you pay isn't really siginficantly better than just booking a ticket where you won't be flying standby. Also, you don't know where your destination (heading to Europe) will be, which can be cool, but might not be and you could be waiting for about 5 days for your ticket. If all that sounds kosher, I say go for it!
