Haha! I'm wondering the exact same thing!

Which one are you thinking of getting and why?

As far as money goes for that pass it is awesome. I meet 2 Danish girls who travelled from Sydney to Cairns for $225 that is unheared of so cheap. As for Oz experience it is probably the same as Kiwi (NZ) and feejee(fiji) Experience and it is geared towards younger backpackers. This often means that you are paying more for the same thing. My Advice use local transport (greyhound) so cheap it isn't funny.

P.S i don't work for or own Greyhound

ha ha, thanks for the advice, think i shall take it. didnt know it was the local mode, but knowing that tells me that its blatantly the best. always go local, else whats the point?!

chocolatey claire, im going to buy the kilometre pass (biggest one possible - am going from adelaide up to cairns plus detours) because it aint so much of a tour an i can hop on an hop off anytime i want without having to worry about the money side of things. it seems to be the easiest most flexible and cheapest (so im told - i havnt worked out how much it would cost to buy each journey individually) thang to do.

Yeah, I was going to do the Oz Experience thing for the people/party aspect of it, but the more I think of it, I want to spend less and have more flexibility than OE has to offer - and I'm sure I'll meet plenty of people to hang with, regardless.

I'm going with Greyhound. I was thinking about getting the All Australian pass. I like that it's good for a year and it covers pretty much everywhere in Oz.

Wow, going by bus would be kind of fun I think, and definitely cheaper.

Wish I could, but I only have a little over 3 weeks so no time unless I want to see the inside of a bus the whole time.

Man, I want 6 months or a year in Oz!

So I was all set on doing the Greyhound thing, at least going through NSW up to Brisbane, but then I found a kick ass deal on VirginBlue - fly for AU$69 including taxes and everything... I guess I'll do some Sydney-based exploring before getting up to Queensland, and then maybe bus it from there. Or perhaps have some of my Bris-vegas friends take time off work and cart me around
