I have a friend who might be living in Sarajevo next summer. Can anyone tell me the best way to get there? The ferry from Italy and the bus seem like they'd take forever!
We're definitely going to want to travel through Italy, Austria and Greece, so travel points through those countries are definitely possible.
Any airlines that fly from London to Sarajevo or Zagreb cheap? Easy Jet doesn't seem to have many options for that.

Just yesterday I paid less than 40 dollars USD to go by bus from Zagreb to Sarajevo. It takes about 8 hours. There is a train that leaves 2 - 3 times a day from Zagreb that takes about 12 hours. Anything else you want to know, just ask.

wow, I haven't been on the site in awhile!
Thanks for the info. I'm from Winnipeg and of course the cheapest way for me to fly into Europe is into London. Any tips on airlines, or where to fly into Europe that will be cheaper and closer? Flying straight into Sarajevo will cost about an extra $700. we'll probably fly back to Winnipeg out of London. My friend will only be in Sarajevo in August so we need to go then.

Have a look at flying from London to Budapest with Easyjet, you should be able to get some nice cheap fares (~$100 return or less) from them. From there, you can get a train to Sarajevo for $50.
