Hi everyone. I'm doing a bit of research on an upcoming trip so I’ve joined this forum.
My brother and I are planning on going to Sicily this coming January to visit some of the smaller out of the way towns our family comes from, and we wanted to do the majority of this trip using rented motorino's.
I'd like to know if anyone out there has any experience in renting the larger, distance worthy motorscooters for any extended length of time, particularly in Sicily or Italy in general. I've done the 'one-day' rentals before but nothing like we're planning fot this trip. Anyone have any advice or info on traveling issues, break downs, gas expenditures, recommendations on bike sizes or rental places? I'm having a bit of difficulty finding places online, and I’ve been to Sicily before in the off-season and much of the tourist industry quiets down. We've also considered buying motorscooters and selling them at the end of the trip but are not sure if we want that kind of additional burden.

Also, my motorscooter experience is fairly limited, am I biting of more than I can chew by thinking we can drive across Sicily on these things? (We want to keep a fairly leisurely pace.) Has anyone done any kind of trip like this?
