Man oh man, I bought my airfare for my may 05 europe trip through US Air, and now I am starting to hear unsettling things about them. Any1 have any info on their stability, or them going out of business, or whatever? Anything?

If it makes you feel any better, I've been hearing "unsettling" things about them for at least a year, more like two. I'm sure it'll work out one way or another, usually when an airline is "in trouble" it still takes a while before they actually shut down their total operations.

Most of the major U.S. airlines are struggling. The only big one who is doing okay is Southwest. The smaller discounters are doing okay too. The problem is, none of them fly overseas. I wouldn't sweat it - USAir will be around come May. What I think will happen more and more is that the bigger U.S. airlines like American, USAir, United etc. will put more focus on international routes and give up the domestic routes to the discounters. The international routes can be more profitable for them and are harder for the discounters to get in on. I know United, for example, is really expanding their routes into China in 2005 and are opening up terminals in cities previously unserved by U.S. airlines, like Guangzhou. Anyway...you will be fine with your USAir ticket.
