Does anybody know if you can take a ship across the Atlantic for traveling purposes? Forget about some caca-mimi cruise, Im talkin about straight roughing it on the high seas like travelers used to do. Maybe even having to work the ship for your fare.
I've seen some stuff out there for passage on freighters and whatnot. Nothing fancy, sometimes takes a month or more, but its old school. Prices run half of the normal cruising costs or more, but it can be rough.
