Hi, I'm leaving for the Uk next thursday and it just occured to me that we didn't really plan our transportation . We will be landing in London and staying there for a few days, then heading off to Dublin. But how do we get to Dublin? Do we take a train to Liverpool and then a connecting ferry to Dublin? How long will this take? How much are the ferries?
I would really appreciate any inputs on this.
Thanks for your help.

to get to Dublin? hmmm, you can go from liverpool by boat, but if you can get to hollyhead (sp?) theres a fast cat to dun-leery (sp again?) and then you have a 5 min walk to the fast train, and 7 minutes on the fast train to dublin, you can find information about the liverpool boat on the there web site, www.steam-packet.com, hope that helped

You should check out www.ryanair.com, it's an Irish airline, and I know flights to Dublin from smaller airports such as london-luton and london-stansbury are less than 10 pounds on occasion. Also, while traveling around Europe, another company, www.easyjet.com has similarly priced fares to a wider variety of cities.
