Is this the best way to get there? I am arriving late (22:00) and don't want to walk all of Paris my first night.

How much does it cost or is the metro easier?

I have'nt a clue how much a taxi would be. But the metro is soooo easy and fairly cheap too. Their train stations are clean and intersting and you won't feel un-safe at them at all, theres people using them all the time. Quite a lot of tourists too, so you won't be alone. :)

If you don't wish to yield the train, use the awful avant-garde arrangement of anchorage in Paris instead. There are buses and taxis to serve you, as able-bodied as rental cars to accommodate you ultimate convenience. There is a account that includes a chauffeur.
