How serious are they about the weight limit? Do they check EVERY bag? Are there ways around it?

Well I've never flown BA, but is it really that huge of a problem to check your stuff? It seems to me that most airlines are pretty lax about their carry-on policies except when the flight is full. You'll probably just have to ask at checkin desk at the airport.

good luck

yep, I just got slapped with this the other day. I wasn't expecting it but I didn't really mind. On the other hand I want to know how the fucking hell some people managed to get on the plane with bags that not only were clearly over that weight limit but way, WAAAAAAY over the carry-on size limit too??? One guy had to actually completely clear out one overhead bin to shove his massive suitcase in there, and it took another dude to help him! And normally this wouldn't piss me off, unless they are in front of me and take for.fucking.ever. to get their bag out of the bin when we're disembarking, consequently holding up the line for what seems like eternity. I don't get motion-sick, but I get motion-cranky and motion- not- feeling- so- hot, so that really pisses me off. Er, can you tell I'm still a little bitter? LOL
