Default Getting from Belfast to Glasgow/Edinburgh?

Hi,
I am in Belfast from Jul 14th to around the 20th and I think I want to go to Edinburgh or Glasgow next. Can you tell me what method is the best way to get there?

Also which city would you recommend more?
Thanks

National express is the cheapest way i know of, its 23 pounds one way and thats including your ferry. I took the bus from london to Belfast and it wasnt bad at all. Edinburgh i would probably recommend more but It all depends on what your looking for.

Hope that helped :D

I see that, 20 Quid, I am going to guess that is around $50 which is about the same as bussing it. I checked out and the bus ride is 23 hours!!! Holy crap!

I can almost drive to Vancouver and back in that same time! I can't believe the trip is that long. Ideally I would like to do a mix of aeroplane/bus/train transit as I would like to see some countryside as well. But if I have to choose between a 1 hour flight and 23 hours on a bus, well then ;-). But I would like to see some of the N'orn and North UK countryside. HMMMMMM....

The ferry would be a nice way of getting to Scotland. It should be a short trip. Take the slow ferry, the fast ones have no decks so you won't get the chance to see the Dolphin pods that like following the ferry's.

I may be a little late on this one but I really succest that you go and check out Inverness. I went there with my sister this spring and I fell in love with that little town. We took a bus from London to Glasgow and then from glasgow to Inverness we went by train. The scenery was amazing! Have a nice trip!!

Default Ferry

I have taken the Ferry from Belfast to stranraer and it is quite nice. There are huge windmills out in the straight which are quite cool. Then take the train from Stranraer to Edinborough. I am sure if you book ahead it shouldn't be more then $75. That is if you prefer not to fly. The ferry service is the Stena line

I would definitely go that way over taking the bus.

I can't believe I missed this thread!!

I love taking the bus - used to do a 14 hour trip (one way!) belfast - birmingham when I was in uni. But that ferry crossing is a bumpy ride
