Hi all, hope you have a good weekend! Whoo!

Just a question!!! Is 470 to Dublin good for early October?? Is it more costly to get tickets into europe with Oktoberfest and all?? Any other cheap places to fly in??

Make sure y'all can stumble into work monday!!..or if you work sunday...

I think that sounds like a really good price. Aer Lingus flies from Dublin to Munich pretty cheaply. I flew Ryan Air from Salzburg (really near Munich) to Dublin but I don't see the reverse flight during the late September time frame.

$470 sounds like a pretty good prices. I know that the Aer Lingus deals from Boston and NYC aren't much cheaper and you'd still have to get there from Chi-town.

I just did a quick search on Orbitz for CHI-LON and cheapest was in the 700s. I would book that US Air tick.

For October, it's very likely that Aer Lingus will have a better deal than $470 and you won't have to connect in PHL-hell. However, since airfares are never guaranteed, you may feel more comfortable locking in the $470 price now. It's not a bad rate, it just may be a little cheaper later...sometimes though, knowing you have tickets now is worth the slightly bigger cost.

When do you plan to fly out, and when do you plan to return? If you can tell me those dates, I can see if I can beat $470 for your specific dates.

I found it in the mid 500s for those dates to Dublin so 470 is still a winner if you can get it.

Well, it looks like $490.30 is pretty much it for CHI to DUB in October.
Anyone out there think this could go done a bit, or better deals?

Book it.
For those specific dates, that's also the best I can find.

NOW...if anyone is looking to go to Europe November 1st from Chicago, you can fly to Dublin for $387 R/T on US Air.

Glad I could be of help. That low low fare seems to be available for departures on 11/1, 11/6, 11/8, 11/10, 11/11, 11/13, 11/15 - depending on how long you want to go for. There's also more availability on other days for a total fare of $405.

Delta has matched US Air. $402 R/T Chicago to Dublin for departures beginning November 1st.

I'd much prefer flying Delta over US Air...and actually, thanks to this topic, I'm thinking of going to Dublin for a few days in the beginning of November now.

Shannon is another big international airport in Ireland, it's mostly cargo that goes into there. It might be worth trying there but I'd say it's in or around the same price.

For any Howard Marks fans it's also where most of Europes Cannabis used to be smuggled into Europe. It has special status as an airport, it's law unto itself or someit.

Do it. I'm always nervous too. Don't worry. If you can afford it, do it. You have from now until you leave to plan the rest out, this is the first and biggest step.

DISCLAIMER: I accept no responsibility if in fact you should have not booked it.
