Default Camera on Airplanes

Hi guys,

i plan to take my big SLR digital camera with me to Europe, and want to know if i will be able to take this on board with me (due to all the security hype at the moment) or do i have to put this in the rest of the cargo luggage?

I want to take it with me where i seat as i am worried that it will get damaged and plus it wont fit in my backpack.

Thanks in advance

ordinarily you should be able to take it with no problems at all. But what are you toting that won't fit into a backpack?

You should be fine, as long as you show them how it works an all that. Bring it along!

If you're still concerned, call them ahead of time to ask if its okay...

No problem. As long as it fits into the carrier/country's cabin baggage restrictions, you're OK.

For instance, for UK flights as of last time I checked, you couldn't have anything much bigger than a small daypack or laptop case, and camera bags seemed to be just fine, too. Other flights in Europe you still get your typical carry-on allowance, so no problem carrying an SLR & attendant parts.
