Greek Islands to Istanbul??
I'm trying to plan my trip right now.... but I can't seem to find a way into Istanbul??
Does anyone know how to get from the Greek Islands (Santorini, Ios, Milos or nearby islands) to Istanbul????

2011: India (Goa), Jordan, Jerusalem, San Sebastian (Spain), Amsterdam (again), London, Driving from Vancouver to L.A. (stopping in Portland, Seattle, San Fran and all the little stops), Montpellier (France), Geneva and Lausanne (Switzerland)

You could fly from either Santorini or Naxos which is next to Ios, to Athens. Aegiean airlines(Santorini) and olympic airlines(Naxos) service those islands. Then connect easily from Ath to Ist. Good luck

Thanx man. The thing is im planning to fly from london to athens and explore around. Don't wanna hit the same place twice. is there any way to ferry it??

Well i fugure if you fly off one of the islands, you will only connect in ATH. Just remember that some ferry rides are forever long. like from ATH to santorini is about 8 hours. Thus why I chose to fly. If you are thinking about a ferry from greece to istanbul, if you are on one of the islands you are once again looking at a very long ferry ride. I would take the flight choice, and if you buy now, its not too expensive. Good luck, keep me posted.

definitely take the flight choice....ferry rides tend to be uncomfortable (because it's so difficult to find a seat...although I always do hehe) and looooooong I did a 25hr ferry ride to venice from corfu and that was SO long

Yeah I did some research and it looks like one of the most probable ways to ferry it to instanbul is to leave from the island Samos and ferry it to one of the Turkish coastal cities and then bus it from there to istanbul...
...so flight it looking good.
But i'm also thinking ferry rides might be fun.... or no?
