Hello from Marrakesh, Ive got a question I should have sorted out awhile ago...how does one affordably get to Bath from London? I see megabus has a Bristol line but not Bath, is Bath a stop along that line? Any info or suggestions greatly appreciated. Now back to the souqs...

My friend took National Express and it was roughly 27 quid if I remember correctly. She booked it in person the day before at Liverpool Street Station. I was there.

i dont think the mega bus does stop in Bath. However, if you go into Bristol and can get off at Temple Meads it only takes about 15 mins on the train and takes about 40 mins on the bus. Bristol (my hometown) is a great city to explore

IIRC, the train between Bristol and London only cost me about £20, so I imagine it'd be the same or less for Bath. That was buying the ticket on the same day. I second Bri's recommendation of checking out Bristol!

Wow those are some big numbers....Canadian dollar doesnt go to far at that rate....looks like the megabus to bristol, check out bristol then take the train to bath is the way to go. Two birds with one stone, megabus is way cheap, plus i have a peek at bristol. Whats worth seeing if u have, say, half a day there?

Book online at http://www.nationalexpress.com -- I've frequently gotten the 1 pound "super saver" internet fare from London to Birmingham, which I believe is farther or at least as far as Bath. :)
Going directly to the Victoria coach station will be more expensive. Definitely check out their website. |
There are lots of things to see and do in Bristol so depends on what you are interested in. A good website to check out is this is bristol.
Bristol has a great maritime past and we have some fantastic buildings and grandoise churches. It's a very cosmopolitan city with vast eateries and watering places. If you let me know your specifics will be glad to help |
Here's my account of one day in Bristol. I didn't do much, because I wasn't expecting to be there at all, but it was definitely a fun town! It was also my first piece of international travel (besides Canada/Mexico) since I was a kid, so I really had no idea what to do.
