Thumbs up

Guys...

I just wanted to know your thoughts on purchasing return tickets when you travel. Im flying out to london in may, and will be holding a two year working visa. Should i excpect any trouble if im not holding a return ticket, as it really is silly to purchase a return ticket that far in advance.

Anyways, after only 2 weeks in london, ill be heading off to paris, to begin a 3-4mth backpacking adventure around europe. Then obviously back to london to try find some 12mths work to pay for a canadian/usa trip.

Finally, flights around europe, anyone know of any good sights with pricing from all cities around europe. Thinking of flying out from austria/switzerland to greece to get to the islands instead of training/ferrying it all the way down there to save time? Any one had experience with this.

Thanks Guys..

Hi,

I'd say if you're holding a 2-year working visa they can hardly expect you to have a return ticket in hand. I wouldn't worry about it -- show them the visa.

As for cheap airfare out of London, check this web site:
www.cheapflights.co.uk. I might be using them to get to Malta this Spring...

Haven't heard if it is viable to fly to the Greek islands rather than ferry. Of course, lots of the ferries are overnights, and you can just count that as your hotel for the night if you get a sleeper cabin.

hey ozpacka

Im not sure that this will help much but.....It seems that if you are purchasing a return ticket that you have to come back to Aus within a year so it wont meet your needs anyway. I would think that once you show them the visa you would be OK. Im lucky enough to be travelling on both Aussie and UK passports so havent had to worry about this :D
