From my Airfare Watchdog e-mail newsletter...

First, peak summer fares to Manchester, England: Delta started it, now American and USAir have joined in. You can fly from Boston, Cincinnati, New York, Newark, Washington, Miami and Orlando for $475 to $570 RT, including all taxes, even in July and August. It's really cheap to fly from Manchester to, say, Rome: $118 RT plus taxes. And from MAN, it's as low as $57 RT on British Airways plus tax to Paris. You get the picture. Fly into Manchester, even if it's not your final destination.

Boston/Manchester is $369 RT plus tax on American and Delta for July/August travel.

New York JFK/Manchester is $475 RT with taxes (after clicking on this link, scroll down until you come to the $379 RT base fares on several airlines; ignore the "lower" fares).

So, for everyone that hasn't yet booked their summer travel to Europe - check how much it is to fly roundtrip to Manchester first!
