Pics from Kandahar, Afghanistan
Hey tpunks, so I was in Kandahar earlier last week on a work trip (no, I'm not part of the military). Afghanistan is a very beautiful place, although poor as hell.
Sorry I didn't give early notice of my plans beforehand - but anyway here's some pics from my trip:
This is Kandahar City, which is absolutely massive - never seen so many mud homes in my life
Nice mountain near Mas'um Ghar
Graveyard for old Soviet armour
Parts of Kandahar are actually surprisingly green
More later!

wow those pictures are beautiful!
especially the mountains in the background of each pic - what a view. and it is surprising how green it is, maybe the constant brown around it excuberates the green though

International Man of Mystery baby!!
No, actually I work for the Canadian equivalent of the Congressional Research Service - we did one of those fact finding missions - which pretty much equates to military tourism.

Sweet pics, thanks for sharing! It's a shame that most of us won't be getting to Afghanistan any time soon, it looks way cool.
