Alright, so I figure I go up almost every weekend, I should have some good pictures to show for it, right? Well, here's why I go there all the time...

This is Donner Lake, near Lake Tahoe. I drove around it yesterday...

If the name sounds familiar, it's because it's named after the Donner Party, who ate each other. Now there's a nice big Interstate highway and a railroad (visible in the middle of this picture) to make winter passage easier.. Or backcountry snowboarding - which explains the footprints in the foreground.

This is the top of the Lakeview chair at Alpine Meadows... makes you wanna ignore the signs, doesn't it?

And this is the unobstructed view of Lake Tahoe - 2nd deepest lake in America, w/ 39 trillion gallons of water - enough to cover California in 14" of water if it were spilled out!

great pics, i will have to check it out there during my cross country trip...although it will be during the summer so the view will differ...and SV, I think the giant meatball thing was less scary then the dancing guy

Absolutely. I have yet to see them up-close. Flying over 'em and into Denver doesn't quite cut it.

Glad you liked the pix, all :)
