Okay yay I have figured out the picture issue. anyway here is a series of pics from afghanistan... I will try to caption them in the order I uploaded them but if it's out of order, don't blame me! :)
pic #1 is this sweet shot I got from a helicopter of the landscape. I am going to get this one blown up and framed when I get back. i wish you all could see it bigger! #2 is me walking to use the "shit hole" bathroom while out on a mission.. that was an experience. #3 is a dude and his camel. I especially like his nike tennis shoes. haha #4 is me and another dude I work with sitting on the back of the plane from when we went on a humanitarian drop. don't worry, we had a saftey harness. it was a sweet view though! #5 is a view of the hymalayan mountains from the plane I was on, going from uzbekistan to afghanistan |
okay here are some more...
#1 is more hymalayan mountains #2 is a local boy that I gave a stuffed animal and a hat to on a humanitarian mission... SO CUTE #3 is the big river in the province I'm in #4 you can't see very well but it is an Afghani midget fixing a truck. HAHA |
hmm okay I have a few more but apparently you're only allowed 300k of uploads?????

Awesome, Nicole...the Army does give you a chance now and then to see stuff you wouldn't otherwise. My memories of back roads Honduras, rural Korea and Panama are courtesy of wearing the green.
Can't wait to see more when you get to Oh, hi, oh!!! worldwidemike |

I agree ^^^^^^^^ GREAT pics
|
sweet pics, love the ones of the mountain ranges
|
thanks for the feedback, guys, I'm glad you like!! that's what I have been saying since I've been over here though, as war-ridden as this place may be it is absolutely beautiful and it is a shame that this crap is going on because this would be a great place to travel... perhaps hard to get around without a humvee because of road conditions, but great none the less. :)
I have an obscene amount of pictures am I am going to attempt to upload them to my photobucket and post them here, so stay tuned for more! otherwise, I have an album on my facebook of the deployment. add me and check them out, I'm nicole byler! |

WOW... those are some awesome pics pinknic... now I wanna go....
perhaps when things settle down.... Man, why are all the beautiful/exotic places unstable!!! |
hey come on over, I think you can actually fly into Kabul, with a bit of trouble, and if you get over here on a military flight (the military is good about getting civilians on flights and sometimes they take priority over US!) they don't stamp your passport, so if you have to take a civilian flight out, there's no paper trail ofyou ENTERING the country through customs in the first place and you can get stuck.
crazy. but come on over to ol' Afghanistan. I'm over here, and I brought the party. You can come down to my FOB and we'll kill a case of near-beer and watch some pirated movies that have Korean subtitles! hahaha  on a more serious note though, I hope that before this lifetime is over things over here calm down 100% so ya'll can come out here. it's unbelievable and the people here who aren't members of the Taliban (LOL) are so friendly... they will invite you to their dinner table, tell you stories, and just talk your ear off. Their hospitality is really amazing and I hear that much of the Middle East is like this. anyway that's my spiel for the day. :) |
nice shots nicole!:)
|
Very nice shots! You're allowed to drink? I couldn't help but wonder what kind of beer you have?
