Dude, those are some of the best night pics i have seen before, was it a special setting on the camera? Is your camera fancy or just like a regular one?* I have a digi now, and wanna know if mine will take good night ones like that...
I second CD's motion-- can you give a night tutorial? I have a pretty sophisticated digital with aperture and exposure settings, and plan to get the little table tripod for just this kind of thing, but I am absolutely clueless as to what settings I would use in such an instance. Help us out?

thanks again everyone..

voyd.. i'm there with you on the balance thing... and you are so right abt that "asian thang"!! my friends back in the philippines wouldn't believe that i've been to OZ without seeing a pic with me in it.. just an observation...i think the most enthusiastic tourists are the japanese... and they love to take photos!!! well, at least i think so..

another thing.. i'm just wondering how come i didn't get to meet many north americans in OZ.. most of the people in my room and the people i've met were all from europe except for a couple of canadian dudes who were very very cool people!! i guess, most of them travel to europe, yeah?

the topless chicks made me stay in the beach the whole fuckin' day!!! we don't get this from where i come from so it was a pretty amazing sight to behold!! it's a bit of a culture shock in some ways.... damn, i miss bondi!! btw, which beach (excluding nudist beach?) in the world has the most number of topless women?? i'm just curious

rozza, thanks but i'm no professional...far from it, in fact!! it was my first digital cam which i got just a couple of days before i left.. i read the manual on the plane and tried to play with it.. although i own a SLR cam so i'm kinda familiar on how the camera works.. i think..

hey cd and iamlindoro.. thank you guys!!! my camera is nothing fancy... i think it's just a regular one although you can do your own settings.. like the shutter speed and aperture..what's your cam?
i figured that with a digital cam, it's so much easier to get good pictures because you can instantly check out the result and delete it if you dont like it.. it was more of a trial and error thing.. ...for the night shots, i usually have the shutter speed set to abt 10-15 seconds... in some of the pics, i used the pre-set camera setting.... but the bottomline is for night shots you have to definitely have a long exposure to expose the pic properly...it also depends on the amt of light in your subject.. and this obviously requires a tripod.. not sure if i'm making any sense and i'm not really comfortable giving tips cause i'm no expert but this is what i did.. hope it helps!! i'm sure you'll be taking some awesome pics as well!!

Tapsi, let me add my praise. You know, sometimes I'm pretty proud of my shots, but you, sir, are an artist. You've got the knack and perhaps (if it fits in with what you want to do) you should look into doing photogrpahy professionally.

By the way, for the night shots: Was that 10-15 seconds or 1/15 or 1/10 of second?

thanks WWM!!

damn, a praise from the travel god himself.. B) oh yeah, you have a reason to be proud.. i've seen some great pictures in your travel site.. nice!!!... i like it when a picture tells a story...

it's funny that you've mentioned abt doing photography professionally..it's my dream job..
but until now, i still could not get myself to do something to attain that...i really want to take a
photography course or something and be serious with it but my current job is taking too much
of my time...so i am usually techno stressed to do other stuff... damn computers!!!
hopefully someday... it doesn't come cheap, i heard so i need big bucks!!!

regarding the shutter speed.. it's 10-15 seconds..
