I actually just booked a flight to Europe today
I got it through studentflights (www.studentflights.com.au
). It was at a travel show though so they said it was a special deal but im not sure about that. Its perth-london for $1450ish + taxes etc.
They seemed to be the cheapest flights that I could see around so definately call in to the travel agents in whatever city you are in and have an ask around.
The flights get dramatically cheaper if you go after the 4th of October. Im not sure about the start of the year since I was always planning to go just after peak season but the dates were something like june-16 august (most expensive) 16 Aug- 4 oct and then cheap after then.
