9 month travel budget.

Ok, I've gotta lot to plan here. Me and my friend are going on an around the world trip after high school for two months. Cities are: from Edmonton to mexico city, to nassau (bahammas), to glasgow, to birmingham, to london, to paris, to munich, to venice, to rome, to athens, to beijing, to seoul, to tokyo, to vancouver, and then back to edmonton. Europe for three months (roughly), china for 3 months (also roughly, and then japan for another 3. the other cities are just for like 5-7 days each.

alright, so thats a hella lotta places, and we're going on a really low budget. =) how much should last us for almost 9 months for all those countries? Assume that we have plane tickets paid for.

thx so much if anyone can come up with an estimate... btw, i kno its all going to be in different currencies, so if you just wanna put in like
3 months europe = so and so many euros
3 months china = so and so many yuan.. etc

pps. ACTUALLY. cut that trip into like 5 months. after reconsideration, i cant make enough money for 9 months no matter how hard ima work... lol so maybe like 1 and a half months in europe, 1 in china, 1 and a half in japan, and then like 1 altogether for the other cities. =) sorry about that

Well...Let's see here. I just got back from Europe and that place is fucking pricey. I spent 2300 in 25 nights but thats because i ate out almost every meal. I drank a good amount. And that paid for the hotels which i split with my girlfriend.

I also have been to japan and spent 100 dollars a day there and didnt need accomodation for half the time. However i got REALLY drunk in Japan and once again ate out to my heart's content.

Japan the cheapest you could do I imagine would be about 40 bux a day. It is a very expensive country. ESPECIALLY TOKYO. I do suggest getting the Japan Rail pass if you plan on moving around much. It was like 400 for unlimited Shinkansen use in 2 weeks. No reservations or fees like the eurrail pass has.

Europe...Glasglow, birmingham, london are all on the pound...ie. You're fucked there. Paris is pricey as fuck too. Munich I personally found pretty boring...Dachau was kool but id suggest going to berlin. I found it much more enjoyable and interesting.

So i Dont think i really helped much, but you're gonna need a lot of money dude. good luck.

Ps. maybe switch out birmingham and one of the italy spots for some eastern europe, itll help tremendously on the budget.
