Alright, I know on here is something about making money in the USA to fund your trip. Like the clincial trials. I live in St. Louis, MO and would like some help finding ways to make money to go on a trip since my job search is floundering. Any suggestions? I know you guys are great with the linkage. :worship:

Thanks!!!

Kathy :insane:

I use Craig's List. I've gotten one clinical trial ($450) and one parttime job off the site.

http://stlouis.craigslist.org/

The Etc. job listings have trials and random listings.

eBay. Hook up with a drop ship wholesaler. If you do it right, you don't spend any money untill AFTER you make sales. You can also do eBay while you are taveling if you have a laptop computer, and an internet connection.

Craigslist does rock! I've made over $1000 between the part time job board (temp nanny job) and the etc. (focus groups - easy money!!).

I just looked on this Craig's List thing and found something where you get paid for submitting your term papers. Now, in three years of university, I've written well over 20 essays. It says they pay between US$10 and US$100 for papers. Has anyone ever done this?

And is it legit?! I'm all up for sending them my papers on the offchance they'll want a few of them. I don't see how it can hinder or harm me in any way.

HERE is the link if anyone is interested.

Maybe it`s just be being a dork/paranoid, but that term paper thing just sounds shady. Why would anyone want a paper of a random student which just cites proper authorities when a person can go directly to those proper authorities? It sounds like plagiarism to me.

lauren313 03-23-2006 04:03 PM

Yeah, I couldn't quite figure out what it was exactly that they wanted the papers for. On the site, in the FAQs, it says:

"What are you going to do with my paper, are you selling it?

No, CastelarHost does not resell essays to people looking to plagiarise your work. We however do make the information available freely to anybody interested in the topic. If you know about wikipedia, we do the same thing, except you get paid for your work!"

I just don't know!

U2fan 03-23-2006 04:16 PM

Maybe they don`t resell it to people, but to companies who then offer it to people who want to plagiarise.....they don`t say they don`t do that! It`s all about tricky wording sometimes.

Somnambulation 03-23-2006 04:27 PM

If they actually pay you, this is awesome. The only thing is that they gain full rights to the paper after you submit it, but that isnt such a big deal.

i wish i could find an easy way to get travel money... I go by the ol' fashioned, work 9-5.30, come home, eat, waitressing 6.30-11 approach. sure I'm getting money but i am so extremely tired and i still have 6 months left. argh!!

With all due respect to you, after three years of university (ie, you're not writing doctoral theses, an expert in the field, or a professor of such-and-such), who besides students looking to plagarize your work, would be interested in your paper on the topic?

It's a scam.

It sucks, but sometimes you just have to work a horrible, tedious, low-paying job to save the $$$$. That was always my approach. But the reward is sooooo sweet.

Good luck.

I decided not to do it anyway, I looked at the main site, and it looks dodgy. They have about 8 essays on there about really weird subjects, and they're all rubbish. Mine are way too good for them ;)

It is a shame, but I know that the good, honest, hard work is the best way to go, I've done it for this long, I can last a little longer! :)

Thanks! I'll try this Craig's List!! I have my Master's degree and I have been told I am either under- or overqualified for positions. Not many part time places want me since they have said, why should we hire you, you will leave us when you find a job in your field. I'm too honest and find it difficult to lie to them. So thanks for the suggestion!

Okay, so on Craig's List I found something about Nation Wide Egg Donation. Has anybody heard of them, are they legit? Any feedback is great. They say they will pay $4000-$5000 USD for eggs for this ad, maybe different for other families? Is this too good to be true?

Kathy

Brookers13 03-24-2006 11:30 AM

ive not donated eggs...nor would i ever, but thats besides the point....

i know that egg donation is much more complicated and painful process than you would originally think...i took a human development class in which i learned about it...you have to get tons of hormone shots and things and its something you should do much research on before making a decision

bluepea 03-24-2006 01:09 PM

Oddly enough, Cosmo just had a fairly decent (poorly written as usual) article on egg donation. Advice - research what you're getting yourself into first. As Brookers said, there's a lot of home hormone injections and doctors visits over about 6 weeks I believe, if you even pass the screening process. On top of that you have a 50% chance of then having a child - your DNA - created from the process. Would you be comfortable with that?

Kaffeine 03-24-2006 06:45 PM

Yeah, i have been reading up on it. I called a place today and she told me information that kind of scared me. I hate needles but thought i could stand an IV and some other shots. She said that I couldn't take birth control pills for an entire year after, which is not for me. :jawdrop: My boyfriend would definitely object to that one. I see your point and I am researching into it, but I think you are right Brookers and Jamiepeaski. I asked her to send me a packet, but I am kind of squirmy about it right now. I did sign up to be a guinea pig with a place that tests the generic forms of the drugs on the market. That shouldn't be too bad though. I know though that I will have blood drawn about 15 times, but I think I can live with it. I am also looking to get over this fear, it is annoying sometimes.

So thank you for your input, I will give all my options more consideration, I even applied to some of the positions on Craig's List. I think I might check the local bars to see if they would train a bartender.
