I was wondering if anyone here has used ING? My current saving account only gets about 2.4% interest while ING accounts get 3.8% (but right now their offering 4.75 for a few months). Just wondering how well it worked out before I make the switch.

If you plan on keeping your money in there long term without ever tapping into it, it makes sense to switch.
Otherwise, keep it where it's at and when it grows into a sizeable amount, put it into a Roth IRA or a good Mutual Fund.
That's my take on it anyways

I have ING direct and I love it... I made more interest off my savings (that I had before university) then I ever did from my normal bank... at the time it was great because I couldn't afford to put my savings away for a long time (locked in)

I used my ING account to get a few extra bucks for my Europe trip.
I mean I was going to have a few grand sitting there for only a few months. It added up to like 50 extra bucks by the time I left for my trip. It's not super lots, but it's better than keeping it in my Royal account that TAKES my bloody money...Argh.
Their interest rates did just go up as well.
I'm gonna be saving there again. They're really friendly to deal with on the phone and I've yet to have a problem with them.

They don't have any actual customer-oriented brick buildings in the US - they're just an online bank here... They're an actual, real-life bank in the Netherlands

Their setup sounds a lot like Paypal, except Paypal doesn't pay interest on any money held with them. I am surprised they don't actually. Something like this would seem to be a natural extension of their business model. ING seems far more secure, though, as payments can only be made back into your linked checking account.
Pretty interesting, though. I may give them a try as well. Great rates.

I could be wrong but I think PayPal is talking about having their own Money Market acounts coming up that people can transfer their money into. They might already be doing this , not sure, but I know it was definantly on the table recently.
