Hi everyone.

I was just wondering, which credit card is the most widely accepted all across western europe, and Australia.
I am going to apply for one, but don't wanna get the one that nobody takes. :unsure:

Both Visa and Mastercard are the most widely accepted.

American Express and JCB less so.

Discover and Diners Club, barely existent on a global scale.

Visa/Mastercard in Western Europe and the rest of the world as well. Get one that gives you some sort of reward if you don't plan on carrying a balance. Also watch out for annual fees and the like.

I have the Chase PerfectCard that gives me 1% back (on the next bill) for all purchases and 3% on gas. It adds up. I use that to help out the with foreign currency fee thats around 3%. so net is 2% on the fee. At home I use my Delta Skymiles Visa for EVERYTHING so I can get a free plane ticket to the EU.
